The Love Island and I’m a Celeb beauty yesterday shared a picture of a bunch of red roses the day after it emerged her romance was over.

A note on the flowers read: “To Me, Love Me.”

Meanwhile, glum-looking Pete was pictured with his mum in Essex. He wore a baseball cap bearing the words “smoke and mirrors”. Maura, 34, and Strictly hunk Pete, 37, were in a relationship for months after knowing each other for six years. But it was revealed on Friday they had split despite a romantic Christmas break in Ireland.

The evening after the news broke, the model slipped into a red mini-dress with rose motifs for a meal with hairstylist pal Carl Bembridge at a restaurant in London’s Mayfair.

As she left, she was asked where Pete was and was filmed replying: “I don’t know, probably cheating.”

Neither Maura nor Pete have publicly commented about their separation but it was claimed they had a series of arguments. Maura told a podcast she “adored him”, while former Towie star Pete called her “super intelligent” and “incredibly witty”.

They had been caught sharing a kiss during a Soho dinner in August and in October they were spotted in another clinch after a date in Shoreditch, East London.

They were snogging again later that month at the Pride of Britain awards after-party at Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane.

They never made their romance official and were apart in November and December while Maura was on ITV’s I’m A Celeb.

Confiding to jungle campmate GK Barry, she said: “Well, we’ve already been papped, tongues down each other’s necks, and we had no idea. The funniest part was I had a vape in one hand and a cigarette in the other, living my best life.” Later, on Loose Women, she was asked: “Is there anything going on with Pete?” Coy Maura laughed: “He’s got better hair than me, to be fair! There’s not really much to tell, I know that’s very boring.”

Her cheating jibe came weeks after they were spotted beaming as they headed for a festive getaway at swanky hotel Glasson Lakehouse in Co Westmeath in Ireland.

The hotel is close to Maura’s hometown and fans speculated whether she had chosen it so she could introduce him to her parents.

Maura became a household name in 2019 after becoming a finalist on the fifth series of Love Island.

She left the show in a relationship with dancer Curtis Pritchard, 29, but that soon hit the skids.

Then she dated fellow Love Islander Chris Taylor followed by former Strictly pro Giovanni Pernice. She has said she struggles in romance because every man she gets involved with lets her down.

Opening up about her disastrous love life, Maura said her ability to pick a good man is so bad that she once told her mum she would end up dating a serial killer.

Meanwhile, tattooed Pete became a viewers’ favourite as he reached the semi-final of BBC’s Strictly with pro dancer Jowita Przystal.

He battled to hold back tears following his performance to Tina Turner’s hit Simply The Best, which he said was his late grandmother Doreen’s favourite song.

He later said in an interview: “A lot of people have messaged me saying they had an opinion of me beforehand, and then they actually appreciated what they saw in the show, which is lovely.” Pete had a string of romances on Towie including with Jess Wright, Megan McKenna and Chloe Sims. He was also linked to Jacqui Ryland and Megan Barton-Hanson.

He recently said he fears being alone forever and needs to work on himself. Maura and Pete’s agents were approached for comment.

The former TOWIE star, 37, couldn’t keep his hands off the Swedish model, 31, as they locked lips before strolling arm-in-arm along the sand.

The couple, who’ve been dating for around nine months, looked happier than ever as they frolicked at the beach amid their stay at the luxury Sandy Lane hotel. James oozed confidence in a pair of colourful swimming trunks, having lost an incredible 15 stone following gastric sleeve surgery in 2021.

Meanwhile, Nicoline flaunted her incredible figure in a bright pink bikini as she strolled alongside her man.

The pair looked to be having the time of their life as they larked about in the azure waters, with Nicoline at one point climbing on to the singer’s shoulders. The duo laughed and joked around as they made a splash in the Caribbean sea and didn’t appear to have a care in the world during their sunshine break.

As Nicoline and James dried off during their walk, they looked smitten as they engaged in conversation.

Nicoline later donned a white beach dress while James sported a pale blue shirt as they continued their day together. 

The Loved-up snaps comes amid reports James is ‘looking to propose’ to his stunning Swedish girlfriend.

Reports emerged the TV favourite is ‘planning to take the relationship to the next level’ with the former Miss Sweden – nine months after meeting casually in a supermarket.

The reality alum ‘has never been happier’ after overcoming several challenges with insiders adding the model ‘loves him for who he is’ – something Arg is finally able to cherish. 

‘He’s totally smitten. He’s definitely looking to pop the question and start their future together,’ a source told OK! Magazine. 

‘He has absolutely no doubt that she is the woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with, they are absolutely soulmates, there’s no question about it. ‘And seeing his good friend Mark Wright and his wife Michelle Keegan so happy and expecting their first baby, it’s just a lovely sign to Arg of what his happy future might hold.’

James’ representatives replied with ‘no comment’ when approached by MailOnline. 

The star is also ready to settle down and have children. 

Speaking to OK! Magazine in their first joint interview, James and Nicoline revealed that it was love at first sight for the pair after they bumped into each other outside a Spanish supermarket.

And since that fateful meeting, Nicoline moved to the UK and has now moved into Arg’s Essex home.

Describing the moment they met, James revealed he thought Nicoline was out of his league but decided he had nothing to lose.

He said: ‘I was walking to my gig at Elliott Wright’s restaurant in Marbella.

‘All of a sudden I see this woman coming towards me. I was like, ‘Wow, she’s beautiful.’ She was just in her gym clothes, wearing no make-up. She’d actually just fed a stray cat.’  

And after summoning up the courage, James asked her out. Nicole described James as a handsome man with a big smile, before adding that he makes her laugh, and it was these traits that helped cement their relationship.

James and Nicoline went on their first date a week later, where James explained about his past addiction issues and his weight loss, and the couple were so engrossed in one another that they forgot to order anything to eat.   

Despite James’s confession about his seven-year drug addiction which saw him go through a near-fatal overdose, a hospitalisation and a stint on rehab, the model was unfazed. 

He explained: ‘I’ve been through a lot over the years. I’ve been to rehab, I’ve had to get help. I also had to explain that I used to be morbidly obese, I was a big guy and I’ve lost a lot of weight. I’ve had an operation which has helped with my portion control. I have to eat little and often.

‘It was probably quite a lot to take in, but she was really cool. She was fine about everything. Being open and honest and putting your cards on the table from the start is so important.’

And Nicoline echoed James adding that the pair had decided to be completely open with each other from the start.
